Deciding to get your Private Pilots License is an exciting decision and I want to make sure you have as much info as possible to help you make that decision. The FAA requires private pilots to have at least 40 hours of flight time before becoming eligible to take the check ride. Usually, students can be ready at about 50 hours.

Private Pilot License Costs

Regardless of where you decide to learn to fly, you will need to work with an instructor. Instructors charge $60/hour for ground/flight instruction.

Other materials may include things like home study books, online ground study courses, check ride fee's and test fee's. You can expect to pay around $2,000.

Final word

Let's face it, learning to fly isn't cheap. But what I can do is help develop a training plan that will work for both your schedule and your financial abilities. Flight training is "pay as you go". In the end, it is SO worth it!
